Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

💡
This guide is specifically designed for users who are not utilizing Google Single Sign-On (SSO) for their account authentication.

Introduction

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires users to provide multiple forms of identification before gaining access to an account or application. Typically, this involves something you know (like a password) and something you have (like a mobile device). By combining these factors, MFA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP)

TOTP is a widely adopted form of MFA. A TOTP is a temporary code generated from a TOTP application which you use alongside your regular password to sign in.

Necessities for setting up MFA:

  1. Access to your account settings on the platform
  2. A smartphone or a device capable of running TOTP applications:

Steps for setting up MFA:

1. Choose your avatar and proceed to the 'My Profile' page.

4. Scan the QR code or manually enter the code into your TOTP application. Your TOTP application will then generate a one-time code every 30 seconds. Please enter this code into the 'Enter Verification Code' field and then click the 'Enable MFA' button.
